CAMERON VALE ADDRESSES JESSE LOVE AND THE OPW MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

1. As OPW Owner, you've been personally targeted by Jesse Love and some of his supporters since the announcement that OPW intended to vacate the Men's Championship. How have you viewed the criticism directed towards you?

CAMERON VALE: What they probably didn't see was everything happening behind that announcement.

Jesse was advertised to defend the OPW Men's Championship at WrestleWave 2, then it got ugly, lawyers get involved, and we are where we are. Due to the negotiated settlement, I don’t want to go down that path and comment any further on the past.

2. At IPW Legends Rise Jesse retained the OPW Men's Championship and, in doing so, ended the career of Bojack. What were your thoughts on the match and Jesse's performance?

CAMERON VALE: No real comment, this boy’s ego needs no more fuel from me.

Jesse has incredible talent – that is why I contracted him, and he has beaten two of Australia’s best in Edward Dusk and Lucas Fantasia. But he and Jazzy are still in the bad books with me…don’t forget her, I am not sure it isn’t her calling the shots.

But he won this past Saturday and let’s see what happens November 29.

3. Jesse has repeatedly suggested that this situation is personal between the two of you. Is he right?

CAMERON VALE: It is personal between us.

Without comparing us to Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Austin from the day, and Jesse isn’t no Austin and unlike Vince, I won’t need any stooges to help me if it ever got to that point and step in the ring and kick Jesse arse!

I am a 25-year successful sport executive, so I will put business ahead of personal feuds – when you are as successful as me in the tough world of sports admin, you get used to not being loved…but respected. I have stared down a lot more intimidating people than a couple of millennials from the Gold Coast that have had a little too much sun.

4. After legal representatives acting for Jesse successfully challenged OPW's decision to vacate the Championship, OPW announced that Jake Taylor and Kayno would compete for

an Interim Championship at WrestleWave 2. If Jesse Love remains the recognised OPW Men's Champion, why does OPW need an Interim Champion?

CAMERON VALE: Because we made a commitment and my champions defend or get stripped – hey I stripped Mustafa Ali, there isn’t anyone I won’t deal with.

So, Jake Taylor and Kayno have been given the opportunity to compete for the Interim OPW Men's Championship, as when you wrestle for OPW and do well, I look after you – we are truly independent promotion,

I will book anyone whether I like them or not, the politics in Australian wrestling don’t interest me – I just book compelling matches, and believe titles need to be defended.

5. After everything that's happened with Jesse Love over the past few weeks, has this experience changed the way you approach working with professional wrestlers and negotiating talent agreements?

CAMERON VALE: [Laughs]

No, outside of wanting Bojack to win but sadly he didn’t, when you are the big boss you just lead from the front and get on with things, that’s why there few leaders capable like me.

The only thing that has changed is I always said I wouldn’t get in the ring, and I don’t intend to, but geez if Jesse pushes things then maybe 2027….well I am not saying anything else for now, otherwise his overpriced and overhyped lawyer from Lander and Rogers, Lydnon Albiston might get involved again – what a douche.

6. After WrestleWave 2, OPW will have Jesse Love holding the Men's Championship and either Jake Taylor or Kayno holding the Interim Championship. As the owner of OPW, are you comfortable with that situation?

CAMERON VALE: The OPW Men's Champion and the Interim OPW Men's Champion will meet on the debut of CLASH, so we have turned a negative into a positive, and this is normal in the big leagues of WWE and UFC to have interim titles.

And when that match is over, there won't be an argument anymore.

I will be personally at ringside to ensure this is a fair match, and provided Jesse turns up and Jazzy isn’t busy on Only Fans, then the year in Australian wrestling will end with a major match up for the Undisputed title.

And by the way – the soon to be announced number one contenders match will really show OPW Men’s division is at the top of the game in Australian wrestling…stay tuned.
